At Antioch, 13th-seeded Northside scored 3 runs in the top of the first of the Class 3A regional semifinal, but Lakes (20-16) responded by tying it in the bottom of the inning and later jumping ahead comfortably with a 9-run fourth inning.
Lakes went on to win 13-3 Wednesday in Class 3A regional play.
In the Eagles’ big rally, Kyle Neeve tripled twice and scored both times. Nick Traska, Danny Jackson, Mike Bartlett, Jake Brown and Ryan Burnett each singled.

Grayslake Central 10, Chicago Mather 0: At Notre Dame, the sectional top seed managed 10 hits with senior Jon Gurchak leading the way. He went 3-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI.
Junior Ryan Fontana went 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI, and junior Kyle Balling was 2-for-3 with a double, triple and 4 RBI. As a team, the Rams had 9 stolen bases.
Senior pitcher Brian Karol got the win to advance his record to 6-0 this season.
Grayslake Central advances to Saturday’s 2 p.m. the regional final to face the winner of today’s semifinal between No. 9 Johnsburg and No. 8 Notre Dame.
Vernon Hills 14, Chicago Senn 0: At Vernon Hills, Steve Nelson earned the win for the second-seeded Cougars, as he, Pat Quinn, Pat Newman and Jamie Roussel combined for the shutout in the Class 3A regional semifinal.
Austin Hagen, Eric Lang, Jake Boyer and MJ Crowley each had 2 hits. Pat Crowley doubled, and Dylan McNamara slammed a triple for Vernon Hills.
Vernon Hills will face the winner of today’s semifinal between Grayslake North and Von Steuben in Saturday’s 10 a.m. final.
Cary-Grove 8, Round Lake 0: At McHenry, Anthony Burton, Randy Eanos and Tyler Conrad all had hits for the fourth-seeded Panthers in their loss to the top seed.
Burton also pitched the complete game for Round Lake, allowing 4 earned runs and striking out five.
