Veteran biking cross-country for PTSD awareness coming to Bartlett
U.S. Army veteran Thomas Skinner will visit Immanuel United Church of Christ, 415 W. North Ave., in Bartlett at 11 a.m. Sunday, May 27 to present “What Comes After Welcome Home,” a program that covers his personal experience with service-related Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and ideas for welcoming returning veterans into the community.
Skinner is on a cross-country bicycling trip to draw attention to PTSD. The journey started in California in March and will end in Vermont.
Skinner’s uncle, the Rev. Ted Preuss, served as the Bartlett church’s pastor from 1970-1994. Skinner will also speak at the Warrenville Public Library District, 28W751 Stafford Place, in Warrenville, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 29.
