Search for Schaumburg stabbing suspect continues

Schaumburg police continue to search today for a man who stabbed another man outside a currency exchange early Monday evening, authorities said this morning.

Two men, who are both residents of Schaumburg and knew each other, got into an altercation inside the currency exchange near the intersection of South Roselle Road and Hartford Drive just before 6 p.m., police said.

The fight spilled out onto the sidewalk, and one of the men pulled out a knife and stabbed the other in the chest, Schaumburg police Sgt. John Nebl said.

Police said the victim was stabbed once and suffered a serious injury. He was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where he was treated and release, police said.
