Learn about community through chamber

The Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Chamber of Commerce will host an open house from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 24, for area residents and business owners who are interested in learning more about the Leadership Academy.

The Leadership Academy is a nine-month program that meets once a month beginning in September. The program is designed to help individuals enhance their desire to learn more about their community.

During the open house, alumni of the academy will be on hand to answer questions guests may have about their experience both during and following their graduation from the program. The objective is for participants to recognize and take on the challenge of making a difference through individual volunteering and participation in elective community activities.
