Butterfield Road to close:

The Elgin, Joliet & Eastern railroad crossing on Butterfield Road north of Route 60 near Vernon Hills and Mundelein will be closed for several days for repairs beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, May 21. The crossing is scheduled to reopen to through traffic on the evening of Friday, May 25. The signed detour route for this closure will be Route 60, to Route 45, to Route 176. Local traffic will be allowed from Route 60, to the railroad crossing and from Route 176, to the railroad crossing.
