Addison man accused of filming child in shower
Bail was set at $500,000 Friday for an Addison man accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a young girl and filming her in the shower.
Edwin Portillo, 20, of the 300 block of Army Trail Boulevard, appeared in DuPage County bond court on charges of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
He is accused of having sexual contact with a young girl, now 12, who was known to him. Prosecutors said the abuse took place “many, many times,” starting when the victim was about 6.
Assistant State’s Attorney Bethany Jackson said the victim reported the allegations at school. Portillo was taken into custody Thursday.
“During an interview, he admitted to having an inappropriate contact with her,” Jackson said in court. “He also admitted to videotaping her in the shower with his iPod.”
Judge Elizabeth Sexton ordered Portillo to have no contact with the victim or any other minors should he post the necessary $50,000 to bond out of jail.
Portillo is set to appear June 4 in front of Judge Robert Kleeman.
