Schaumburg man missing

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a 22-year-old Schaumburg man who has been missing since Tuesday morning.

Michael J. Coleman is believed to have left his Schaumburg residence early Tuesday morning en route to a 10:30 a.m. business meeting in Schererville, Ind., according to police.

Coleman sent a work-related email early Tuesday morning, but as of late Tuesday night friends and family had not heard from him since, police said.

Family and friends said Coleman has had no mental or physical issues and has been in good spirits, according to police.

Records indicate his I-PASS showed him traveling in the direction of the northwest Indiana town, but there were later I-PASS contacts that were “unexplained,” according to Schaumburg police.

Police tried to locate his cellphone with the help of the service provider but were unsuccessful. Police said there were indications the phone was possibly being turned on and off.

I-PASS and cellphone records indicate Coleman might be in the vicinity of the south Chicago suburbs or northwest Indiana.

Coleman is believed to be driving a 2005 gray Mazda 4-door vehicle with license plate BHWK7. He is described as a white man standing 6 feet 3 inches and weighing 190 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

“Every angle we have been able to look at hasn’t given us any solid information,” said Schaumburg Police Sgt. John Nebl.

Anyone with information about Coleman’s whereabouts is asked to call police at (847) 882-3534. Anyone who sees Coleman or his vehicle is asked to immediately call 911.
