Libertyville splits: Libertyville hung tough after opening its doubleheader against Leyden with a 9-5 loss. The Wildcats came back to get a 4-3 win in the second game. Winning pitcher Emilie Teitz struck out 4 Leyden batters and did not allow a walk while Nicole Kruckman, Margaret Haws, Val Steinhauser and Emily Gilbert each had doubles. Calley Kaluzny went 2-for-3 for the Wildcats. In the first game, Kruckman went 4-for-4 while Haws added a triple.

Wilmot (Wis.) 2, Lake Zurich 1: Maria Schroeder had a double and a stolen base for Lake Zurich, which drops to 22-9.

Glenbrook North 5, Mundelein 4: Glenbrook North got a base hit in the bottom of the seventh to score the winning run. Alex Hemmer had 2 hits and scored a run for Mundelein.

Grayslake Central gets swept: Zion-Benton picked up two wins in a doubleheader against Grayslake Central. The Zee-Bees won the first game 7-1 thanks to a home run by Jamika May and won the second game 9-2 thanks to 4 hits, including another homer, by May. May finished with 6 RBI.
