Thanks, Metea, for unforgettable prom
Metea Valley High School made my dream come true, and many people contributed to help me in every single detail: Limos without Limits LTD (limousine), Black Tie Tuxedos Naperville (tuxedo) Crown Royalty Pageant Resale (prom dress), Eirabella Salon Services (makeup), Amber Moore (nails) Crystal Wilson (hair), Andrew’s Floral Couture (boutonniere and corsage), purse, shawl and bracelet (Alexis Griffith), compact, jewelry and girlie items (Joy Ross), Francesca’s Passaggio and Outback restaurants (dinner). Additional Metea staff members who were instrumental in securing some of the items include: Alena Jirgis-Edwards and Carrie Wrona.
At the prom, Assistant Principal Joy Ross was waiting for Jonathon and me with a big smile and hug. Some students said I looked beautiful in my dress and wished me a good time. Then Dr. Ross took us to a room where the photographer gave us a packet of free prom pictures. He took a beautiful picture and said he would mail it to us.
We got a table, and some students joined us. We talked to them, took pictures, and had a very good time. The students made us feel good about being there.
Then we were asked by Dr. to crown the queen and king. While we were waiting for the winners names they told me to crown myself a queen. That was very special for me. I couldn’t believe it. Jonathan was very happy for me, too. I felt like crying.
Then the Mock DUI Group also came up front and we took pictures. After I crowned the queen and king, we thanked everyone and said goodbye.
We had an amazing time that we will never forget; we will always have Metea Valley deep in our hearts. Thank you, Dr. Ross, and everyone who made this dream come true.
