Man charged with DUI in Lisle crash

Joseph Filomena, 21, of the 24W400 block of Green Trails Drive in Naperville was charged Wednesday with driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs after losing control of his car and crashing it through a fence into a Lisle back yard, authorities said.

Lisle police responded about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday to a single-vehicle accident in the 6600 block of Wildwood Court. Filomena told police he was driving north on College Road when he lost control of his 2010 Honda sedan.

Tire marks show he veered into the southbound lanes, then back into northbound lanes before leaving the road on the east side, heading toward the back yard of a home on Wildwood Court, authorities said.

Filomena was taken to Edward Hospital in Naperville for treatment of minor injuries. He was arrested there for driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, and also cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, improper lane usage and driving the wrong way.
