Author to read from debut novel at Cook Park Library May 15

Deborah Michel, seasoned magazine editor and freelance writer, will read from her recently released debut novel, "Prosper in Love" at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 15 at the Cook Park Library, 413 N. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville

This debut novel is both a richly detailed comedy of manners and an insightful look at modern marriage. It tells the story of a couple whose love is meant to last forever, until it doesn't.

Deborah Michel lives in Palo Alto, Calif., and has worked at a long list of publications including "House Beautiful", "Premiere", and the "Los Angeles Times Magazine". She worked as an editor and nightlife columnist for "Avenue Magazine", was the west coast correspondent for "Spy" and served as contributing editor at "Buzz".

Michel's publisher, Penguin Publishing, is donating several bags filled with books which will be given out randomly to audience members so register early! Books for signing will be available to purchase courtesy of Lake Forest Bookstore.
