Langtry picks up win for Glenbard West
Taylor Langtry (12-5) was the winning pitcher for Glenbard West in its 4-2 victory Friday against Lyons Twp. in West Suburban Silver action. Langtry struck out four and walked just one for the Hilltoppers (14-9, 7-1). Kelly Borneman was 2-for-4 with 2 RBI and a double, and Jacklyn Tyburk was 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles.
Downers Grove North 6, Oak Park 0:
Dale Ryndak (9-1) fired a three-hitter for the Trojans’ third straight shutout and also slugged her sixth homer of the year, a solo shot. Sam Yeager keyed the offense with a grand slam, her 10th homer of the year, giving her 10 RBI over the last two games for Downers Grove North (21-4, 8-0 West Suburban Silver).
St. Francis 8, Rosary 3:
St. Francis scored 6 runs in the bottom of the sixth to rally past Rosary, with Alyssa Fernandez hitting her fifth home run of the season for the Spartans (22-2, 12-1).
Lake Park 8, Metea Valley 3:
Stephanie Starr went 2-for-4 to lead Lake Park (17-9, 11-3) to an Upstate Eight Conference Valley Division victory in Aurora. Anna Petersen drove in 2 runs and Antoinette Senese drove in 1 for Metea Valley (10-10, 7-7).
Glenbard North 1, West Chicago 0:
Lilly Fecho threw a one-hitter and homered for the game’s only run in the Panthers’ DuPage Valley Conference victory at West Chicago (17-10, 5-3), which got a two-hitter from Katie Wiest (9-5).
York 5, Hinsdale Central 1:
Danielle Morency and Alyssa Johnson each homered for the Dukes at West Suburban Silver rival Hinsdale Central.
Lisle 5, Reed-Custer 0:
Melanie Early (12-2) threw a two-hitter for Lisle (20-3, 10-3 Interstate Eight Conference), striking out 13 and not allowing a walk. The Lions scored all five of their runs in the seventh inning.
Downers Grove South 6, Leyden 1:
The Mustangs (16-9, 5-2 West Suburban Gold) took the lead in the fifth inning, scoring three runs on a dropped flyball. Danielle Trezzo was 3-for-3 with 2 runs scored, Jessica Andree 2-for-4 with a run and Aleisha Bozek 2-for-3 with two runs.
Willowbrook 5, Hinsdale South 0:
Darian Pelsor threw a shutout for the Warriors (12-12, 5-3 West Suburban Gold) and drove in a run. Lizzy Kalal added two RBI.
