Cinco de Mayo celebration
The Wauconda Park District will host a Cinco de Mayo concert and celebration Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. Residents are invited to enjoy the Sones de Mexico Ensemble Chicago for live outdoor music. The group touts itself as Chicago’s premier folk music ensemble. It features a collection of more than 25 string, percussion, and wind instruments, with sounds ranging from traditional Mexican folk songs to jazz and rock music. There will be food vendors, free crafts, a tattoo artist and kids’ games. The event is free to attend and takes place behind the Wauconda Park District building at 600 N. Main St.
