Mt. Prospect Public Works to hold open house May 19

The Mount Prospect Public Works Department is hosting its annual Open House on Saturday, May 19 from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Mount Prospect Public Works Facility, located at 1700 West Central Road.

Public Works is responsible for many different services including the water and sewer system, solid waste, snow plowing, tree maintenance, streets and sidewalks. The purpose of the Open House is to show residents the different responsibilities of the Public Works Department in a fun and entertaining way.

The Open House features prizes, a tour of the Public Works facility, rides in the department's aerial trucks and street sweepers, a children's Fun Fact Hunt, and a wide range of displays demonstrating how the Village's water system, sewer system, parkway trees, buildings, streets, and vehicles are maintained. Kids can meet PW Paws, the Mount Prospect Public Works Department mascot. Refreshments will be provided by the Mount Prospect Lions Club.
