Ex-Wheaton College prof in child porn case 'in treatment'

A former Wheaton College professor charged with child pornography has completed a psychosexual evaluation and is "in treatment," his attorney said Wednesday.

Donald Ratcliff, 61, made a brief appearance before DuPage County Judge John Kinsella, his first since his release from jail last month on a $30,000 bond.

Defense attorney Dan Collins told the judge that Ratcliff remains in compliance with electronic monitoring and other conditions of his release.

"He has completed the psychosexual evaluation. He is currently in treatment," Collins said.

Ratcliff was arrested in March after an undercover investigation into child pornography. Prosecutors said more than 500 such images were found on computer equipment at his home in Carol Stream.

Wheaton College fired Ratcliff, a Christian education professor, in April, and his wife has filed for divorce.

Ratcliff, who has pleaded not guilty, is due back in court June 12. The results of his psychosexual evaluation were not disclosed Wednesday.
