McGuire powers Benet to big win
Maeve McGuire homered twice, her eighth and ninth of the season, scored 3 runs and drove in 3 and No. 2 Benet rolled past Oswego East 12-1 in six innings Monday. Kendall Duffy was 4-for-4 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored and Julianne Rurka 3-for-3 with a double, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI for Benet (19-2). Winning pitcher Molly Moran struck out nine.
Waubonsie Valley 8, DeKalb 3:
Amanda Minahan was 4-for-5 with a double and 2 RBI and Meghan Grannan added a double, homer and 2 RBI for the No. 13 Warriors (14-4).
Neuqua Valley 7, Plainfield North 5:
Jamie O’Brien was 3-for-4 with a triple and an RBI, and Kelsey Dominguez was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI for the No. 16 Wildcats (14-6), who won their seventh straight game.
Naperville North 9, Glenbard East 4:
Caitlyn Warren and Tara Degl’Innocenti both homered and drove in 3 runs for the Huskies (11-6, 3-1 DuPage Valley Conference). Dana Camp went deep for Glenbard East.
WW South 5, West Chicago 3:
Hannah Keating went 3-for-3 with 2 runs scored and an RBI, and the Tigers (11-12, 2-2 DVC) scored 2 runs in the fourth inning and 2 more in the fifth to rally in Wheaton. Megan Zablock and Sammy Granger both went 2-for-4 and scored a run for WW South.
Glenbard South 7, Timothy Christian 1:
Danielle Chitkowski (8-1) fired a 1-hitter, striking out 11, and Hannah Davey was 2-for-4 with a double and stolen base for the No. 11 Raiders (15-2, 5-0 Metro Suburban Conference).
Immaculate Conception 3, Rosary 2 (10 innings):
Katelyn Conenna and Jocelyn Sanchez hit back-to-back homers, and winning pitcher Jessica Conenna struck out eight and went 2-for-5 with an RBI for the Knights (17-5, 10-0 Suburban Christian Conference Gold).
Lisle 7, Westmont 3:
Kellie Brennan had 2 doubles and an RBI and Summer Stitt was 3-for-4 with 2 doubles, 3 runs scored and an RBI for the Lions (15-3, 5-3 Interstate Eight Conference). Kelly Urban added 2 hits and 3 RBI.
Montini 11, Wheaton Academy 1:
Shaylee Lewis went 3-for-3 with a triple, 3 runs scored and 4 RBI for the Broncos (11-9, 7-2 Suburban Christian Conference Blue). Tori Shipbaugh was 2-for-4 with a double and 4 RBI.
