Wheaton police search for 'suspicious' man
Wheaton police are on the lookout for a “suspicious” man seen frequenting the areas of Wexford Circle and Creekside Drive.
The man is described as possibly Hispanic and about 40 years old with black hair and acne scars on his face. He is believed to be driving an older-model, teal van with silver trim, possibly a Honda Odyssey or Toyota Sienna.
The most recent sighting was about 7:30 a.m. April 18. Police said the man pulled alongside a teenage boy walking to a bus stop at Wexford Circle and Creekside Drive. He did not stop or speak to the boy.
The same boy told police the same man photographed him and a friend in December as they played along Wexford Circle. Authorities said the man pulled to the curb but did not speak to the boys before driving off.
Area schools were alerted and officers are patrolling the area, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Division Cmdr. James Volpe at (630) 260-2055.
