Duckworth is the better alternative
In response to Lew Kuehm’s letter, “Duckworth has no plan for economy” (Fence Post, April 7), I agree wholeheartedly that representatives should respond to their constituents. So, I am sure you will agree that one who holds office should be held to a higher standard than those who are running for office. Well, I’ve sent no less than three emails to our loudmouth representative, Joe (can’t be bothered to respect the office of the president of the United States) Walsh. I have heard nothing back. Not even an acknowledgment!
Joe is overly concerned with protecting entrenched power over and above the concerns of his constituents. He was instrumental in the farce that led to our country’s credit rating being downgraded — and for what? In order to get his mug on TV more? No, Joe Walsh has proved himself a distraction at best. He and his Tea Party ilk were supposedly sent to Washington to “fix” things; they have proved themselves incapable of the task, and in fact have only made things worse. I’m voting for Duckworth!
