As Dow goes, so does price of gas

If President Obama can’t be blamed for the rising price of gasoline, he can’t be credited with the rise in the Dow. As the supply of currency is increased the Dow rises, as does the price of oil, gold and other commodities.

Look at what the price of gasoline was when the president took office. Gas prices have increased in proportion to the increases in the Dow. But all of this leads to inflation which hits retirees and the poor the hardest.

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke conceded that the Fed saw no need to continue increasing the supply of currency. Almost immediately the Dow dropped from a high of 13,300 to 12,700. Prices at the pump dropped from $4.49 to $4.13.

Whoever is deciding to increase or decrease the supply of currency has a direct and immediate impact on the Dow and commodity prices. We can only hope these decisions at not being made for political purposes.
