A wee bit of Ireland in Mt. Prospect

Want to extend your St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations? The party didn’t have to end in March. Come to downtown Mount Prospect on Saturday, April 21, for Mount Prospect’s Irish Fest. Celebrate in a huge heated tent with Irish music from some of Chicago’s hottest Celtic musicians, Irish food and, of course, Irish beer.

The event will be held 3—10:30 p.m. in the Chase Bank parking lot at Emerson Street and Busse Avenue, one block north of Northwest Highway and one block east of Elmhurst Road/Route 83. Just one block from the Mount Prospect Metra stop.

The entertainment lineup includes:

Ÿ 3-3:30 p.m. Trinity Irish Dancers

Ÿ 3:30-5 p.m. They Might Be Irish

Ÿ 5:30-7:30 p.m. Dooley Brothers

Ÿ 8-10:30 p.m. The Larkin & Moran Brothers

Ÿ All Day Strolling Bagpipers

Food Vendors include Bogie’s Ale House serving corned beef and cabbage, Olympus Gyros serving fish & chips and Mount Prospect’s Firefighter’s Union Local 4119 serving hamburgers and hot dogs. The Chamber of Commerce will be selling Guinness and Harp and other beverage options.

Several vendors will be on hand: Paddy’s on the Square (Long Grove) and Rampart Lion (Villa Park) will be selling Irish “tsotchkes”, music, jewelry, pottery, sweaters, etc. Galway Bakers will have breads, scones, mini tea cakes, shortbreads, cookies and brownies. The Mount Prospect Junior Women’s Club will be selling beads, hats and all the fun party gear.
