Three injured in Route 60 crash in Vernon Hills

Route 60 was shut down in Vernon Hills Tuesday night after a crash that injured three people, according to fire officials.

Emergency crews responded to the two-vehicle crash bout 7 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of Route 60 just east of Westfield Hawthorn Mall.

Paramedics found the driver of one of the vehicles pinned in the vehicle, said Countryside Fire District Batallion Chief Ed Heinz.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Route 60 and Lakeview Parkway, Heinz said.

The driver who was pinned in the vehicle and two other victims were taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center with minor injuries, officials said.

The eastbound lanes of Route 60 were shut down for about 30 minute while crews responded.
