Philosophy Lecture By Merold Westphal

Dr. Merold Westphal will deliver the final lecture in the 2011-2012 Philosophy Lecture Series at Wheaton College. The lecture, titled "Philosophical Hermeneutics as the Postmodern Turn," takes place at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 17.

Dr. Westphal has lectured widely in the United States, Europe, China, and Brazil. Modern Continental philosophy is the focus of his research and writing. A summa cum laude graduate of Wheaton College, Dr. Westphal was a Woodrow Wilson Fellow at Yale University where he earned a Ph.D. in philosophy in 1966. He has served on the editorial boards of five academic journals and has edited and/or authored 18 books. Most recently he taught as an adjunct professor at Fuller Theological Seminary, and is faculty emeritus at Fordham University, where he was Distinguished Professor of Philosophy.
