Community Park Playground is now OPEN!

Within 30 minutes of removing the construction fencing of the new playground at Community Park, 120 E. Oak Street in Addison, the park was buzzing with kids. Several of the neighborhood kids, pictured below, had been watching the playground construction with great anticipation and hurried over to try out the new slides, swings and climbing wall. The playground also features a separate play structure where toddlers can play safely and comfortably.

The new playground will be officially dedicated at a ceremony on Saturday, May 12, following the Park Pride volunteer day. Local and state dignitaries will be present for the special dedication ceremony. Kids will enjoy entertainment and giveaways provided by Radio Disney starting at 12:00 p.m. as part of the ceremony.

Addison Park District is committed to providing the highest quality recreational opportunities and open space for everyone. The 2012 Summer Fun Guide will be delivered to Addison homes on Friday, April 20 and is currently available online with a full curriculum of leisure activities for all ages and lifestyles.
