District 214 holds intergenerational prom Saturday
Northwest Suburban High School District 214 Community Education will host its annual Intergenerational Prom on Saturday, April 14 with an Arabian theme.
The annual spring dinner-show-dance event will feature the theme “An Arabian Dream,” as well as a 45-minute show that will highlight a variety of Middle Eastern dances.
Two locally-based dance groups, Troupe Namaste and Namaste Roses, will perform lyrical and instinctive interpretations of music in diverse styles such as Turkish, Gypsy, Folkloric and Cabaret, and use canes, swords, veils and finger cymbals.
This long-running event is organized through Community Education with the main goal of bridging the perceived gap between the older and younger generations.
Tickets for adults are $15 and $10 for students. The prom will be held from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at Forest View Educational Center, 2121 S. Goebbert Road, Arlington Heights.
