Do you love food? We all do. And we spend a great deal of time planning, buying, and preparing it for ourselves and our families. But we also hear a lot about what we're doing wrong. What we should eat and what we shouldn't eat. Carbs are good. Carbs are bad. Low fat or no fat. The list goes on and on and it becomes very confusing. Aldrich has been there and done that.

After a serious car accident in 2007 damaged not only her face but her hopes as well, Aldrich found herself having to make some life-changing decisions. One of which was putting her career as the producer and host of her own nationally syndicated PBS TV series on hold.

After re-evaluating her own life she decided to attend New York's Institute for Integrative Health to train with the likes of Dr. Mehmet Oz, Dr. Andrew Weil, Dr. Barry Sears, Deepak Chopra, and many other brilliant people committed to natural health, whole food, and the pursuit of a fulfilling life.

“The more I learned, the more I began to see changes in myself,” said Aldrich. “I got stronger, more energetic, more radiant, more sensitive to the effects of food, exercise, and stress on my body … and I lost the extra pounds I'd been carrying around after my accident.”

Now as a certified Holistic Health Counselor, Aldrich is an engaging speaker, media spokesperson, health and nutrition columnist and a busy mom of three boys who understands the temptations that befall most women when it comes to poor food choices and extreme dieting. In her book, Real Moms Love to Eat, Aldrich encourages mothers to have a love affair with food, and find out what it is about food that really turns them on, before making changes to their diet to help them get the proper nutrition they need with room for indulgences. “I wanted to give women very clear, simple, and easy-to-digest solutions that can be incorporated into your daily life,” said Aldrich. The book explains WHY we crave what we do and why diets don't usually work. It includes recipes, tips, and even exercises to help you along on your journey while you learn to experience foods in a new way and enjoy them.

Join Beth as she talks about herself, her family and her love affair with food. Residing in Chicago with her husband, three sons, and two terriers, she enjoys swimming, knitting, yoga, golf, Sudoku, and running marathons.
