Palatine Dist. 15 approves junior high track proposal

A running track will soon be built at Winston Campus Junior High in Palatine. The Palatine Township Elementary District 15 board recently approved a professional services contract with Chicago-based STR Partners for its design. The board was previously hesitant to allow the project given the district’s budget deficit, instructing staff to instead look at grants and fundraising. But officials this month agreed to the project, saying none of the district’s other three junior highs had to solicit outside funding for their tracks. The cost is expected to be less than $250,000.
