South Elgin falls twice: South Elgin began its trip to the Warriors Southern Classic in Murfreesboro, Tenn., with losses of 6-1 to Riverdale, Tenn., and 7-2 to Munford, Tenn. Sam Bolin and Taylor Rees suffered the losses for the Storm (2-4). Against Riverdale, the top-ranked team in Tennessee, the Storm played tough in a 2-1 game into the sixth inning before Riverdale scored 4 runs. South Elgin sophomore catcher Alyssa Buddle threw out 5 runners trying to steal second base on the day.

Wheeling 6, Dundee-Crown 1: Melany Love drove in Dundee-Crown’s only run in this nonconference loss. Amanda Eissler was the losing pitcher for the Chargers (3-5).

Rockford Boylan 8, Huntley 5: Tara Lycos was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI and Randi Peterson went 2-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI in Huntley’s loss in Rockford. Brittany Koss also drove in a run for the Red Raiders (0-4). Haley Spannraft was the losing pitcher.
