Outgoing, incoming Mount Prospect police chiefs to meet the public

Retiring Mount Prospect Police Chief John Dahlberg and his successor, Deputy Chief Michael Semkiu, are holding public meetings next month to answer residents’ questions, take their comments and hear their concerns.

The three meetings will be conducted at the Mount Prospect Public Library, 10 S. Emerson St. The sessions will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 5 in meeting room 130; 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 12 in meeting room 154; and 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 14 in meeting room 152. No advance notification of your attendance is necessary.

Semkiu will become chief June 5, replacing Dahlberg, who announced his retirement in January, ending his 27-year tenure with the department.
