Alpha Omicron PI benefit raises $3,200 for charity
On Sunday, March 4, Alpha Omicron Pi Chicago Northwest Suburban Alumnae Chapter held an auction to benefit the Arthritis Foundation and other local charities.
The event, which was held at the South Barrington home of member Cathy Grain, featured lunch, auctions and raffles. Some 50 sorority members plus their family and friends opened their purses to support the worthy causes, raising over $3,200.
“Our Luncheon and Auction for All Seasons is a favorite activity for all members. We invite friends and family for a salad luncheon and cheesecake dessert followed by a spirited auction of handmade and donated items,” said Terry Palmer, president. “The funds raised make a real difference in the lives of others.”
Chicago Northwest Suburban Alpha Omicron Pi Alumnae Chapter, chartered in 1955, began holding its Auction and Luncheon for All Seasons nearly 30 years ago.
In addition to the Arthritis Foundation, funds raised go the Ronald McDonald House, Wings, Y-ME Breast Cancer, Alternating Hemiplegic Foundation, Palatine’s Apple Tree Campaign, and Catholic Charities.
