A-May-Zing Mundelein seeks volunteers for May 19 event
The village of Mundelein and the Mundelein Police Department will sponsor A-May-Zing Mundelein on Saturday, May 19.
It’s been 17 years since the village’s Project CAPE (Create A Positive Environment) initiated this annual volunteer spring cleanup event.
A-May-Zing Mundelein’s success has been due to the local residents, organizations and businesses that volunteer their time to complete spring cleanup projects at the homes of residents in need of a helping hand.
Last year, A-May-Zing Mundelein had 146 volunteers. The group was comprised of families, Scout troops, churches, local organizations and businesses.
The volunteers completed spring cleanup projects at 52 locations throughout the village that ranged from yard work, window washing and home safety inspections to small outdoor repairs.
In addition, several area businesses donated supplies to help complete the projects and food and refreshments for the hardworking volunteers.
Project CAPE is seeking volunteers for this year’s A-May-Zing Mundelein. The event will kick off at the Mundelein Police Department with registration and continental breakfast from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Volunteers should plan on working through late morning or early afternoon.
Any residents, organizations or businesses that wish to volunteer or donate supplies should call Jennifer at the Mundelein Police Department at (847) 968-3770.
Residents in need of assistance with their spring cleanup projects should also call (847) 968-3770 to register. Project suggestions for common areas within the community are also welcome.
