Delort, Neville, Reyes take early leads in appellate race
A number of Democrats are leading in their judicial primaries for the six vacancies on the 1st District Appellate Court Tuesday.
For the Cahill vacancy, Mathias William Delort has the lead with 89,185 votes, or more than 25 percent. More than 90 percent of the precincts were reporting. Other candidates were Pamela E. Hill-Veal, Kay Marie Hanlon, Mary Brigid Hayes, James Michael McGing, and Laura Marie Sullivan.
For the Gallagher vacancy, P. Scott Neville Jr. has the lead with 155,845 votes, or about 45 percent. Also running were Patrick J. Sherlock and Marguerite Anne Quinn
For the O’Brien vacancy, Jesse G. Reyes garnered 117,763 votes, or about 35 percent. Other candidates were Rodolfo (Rudy) Garcia, William Stewart Boyd, Ellen L. Flannigan and Don R. Sampen.
Democrat Maureen Elizabeth Connors ran unopposed for the Theis vacancy. Democrat Terrence J. Lavin ran unopposed for the Tully vacancy. Democrat Nathaniel Roosevelt Howse, Jr. ran unopposed for the Coleman vacancy after one opponent withdrew and the other was removed.
