What to watch: While the Blackhawks are coming off a big road win at Dallas, the Capitals are reeling after 3-2 loss at Winnipeg, courtesy of Dustin Byfuglien’s game-winner. The loss put Washington just 2 points ahead of the Jets and 3 in front of Buffalo for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Alex Ovechkin has been held off the scoresheet in 10 of 20 games since the All-Star break. Washington is 29-6-3 in games in which Ovechkin has recorded at least a point this season.

After two straight strong performances, Corey Crawford gets the start in net for the Hawks.
