Patlak, Jochum men of integrity

I am a Democrat. I found your article of March 9, 2012 regarding the Republican race between Morrison and Patlak for the Board of Review in the First District interesting.

I know Dan Patlak and his chief deputy Ken Jochum. I have known Ken for more than 30 years. I know Dan Patlak from his service on the Board of Review as a hearing officer. I served 21 years in the Cook County Assessor’s Office in a supervisory position and 10 years as a senior hearing officer for the State Of Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board. I am retired.

I came to know Dan as a hearing officer as I conducted Cook County property tax hearings regarding residential and commercial/industrial tax appeal cases. I found him quite competent and knowledgeable of the appeals system and above all honest. I knew Ken back in his seminary days. He is a gentleman and a man of deep integrity. And I am a Democrat.
