Horse story was inflammatory
I have been a volunteer at Danada Equestrian Center for 3 1/2 years now and have never seen anything I would define as abuse toward any of the horses. I find it a bit disconcerting that a publication such as yours would print this article, let alone on the front page. It would be more fitting of the National Enquirer to print such allegations.
Perhaps some allegations have been made and the committees are looking into and addressing them, as any responsible organization would. But people who read things like this in your paper will automatically assume that the horses are abused. The story is unbalanced and inflammatory. Printing this article is in my opinion irresponsible. It will do more to spread rumors than to appease them.
I can only speak for myself, but I have not ever witnessed abuse of any kind from any of the staff members. I am fully supportive of the leadership at Danada. If I weren’t, I would have no problem speaking my feelings to any of the staff directly, as they all have provided me with an open door to do so.
