GOP candidates stirring up fears
With the latest headlines showing that Iran has accelerated its uranium enrichment program, 16 separate U.S. intelligence agencies indicated that there is no hard evidence it has decided to build a nuclear bomb. But the omniscient Republican candidates for president seem to know better.
What could be this intelligence community’s motive to virtually absolve this country of this foul deed? Perhaps it’s to avoid an unnecessary war, to prevent the needless loss of life, to keep the world’s economy intact, and to ultimately initiate a constructive, diplomatic overture toward a nation whose current reputation may be, in part, our own doing.
Is it too much to ask these candidates to cool it, sit down and listen for a change? Or is it that they just can’t resist playing the fear card again? It worked before — why not now?
