Center Stage, an Arlington Heights show choir, was named Middle School Division Champions at the 2012 Mundelein Invitational on March 10, concluding an exciting inaugural season for the group founded last fall. The ensemble, sponsored by John Hersey High School, features 24 student performers from several schools in the surrounding community. This energetic group of 6th, 7th and 8th graders are involved in a wide variety of extracurricular activities in addition to their commitment to Center Stage. The group rehearsed one evening a week since September to prepare for their exhibition performances at a December Holiday Concert and the Chicagoland Showcase hosted by Hersey High School, prior to Center Stage's very first competion at Mundelin High School. They are directed by Tim Heck, with choreography by Jennifer Toney and Allison Rule. Their competition show included singing and dancing to "Hold On", "Brand New You", "I See The Light" and "Dynamite".
