Bolingbrook 7th Grader Wins Will County Spelling Bee
Kimberly Belser, a seventh-grader from Bolingbrook, won the Will County Spelling Bee on Thursday, March 8. She beat 44 other competitors and with the win advanced to the 85th Annual Scripps National Spelling Bee Finals, to be held from May 27 – June 1 in Washington, DC.
Belser, who attends Humphrey Middle School in the Valley View School District, won the competition held at Lewis University by correctly spelling quibble. The word means to evade the point of an argument by caviling about words
This is the fifth consecutive year ComEd sponsored local spellers at the Will County Spelling Bee. ComEd will cover all expenses for Kimberly and her family to attend the National Spelling Bee Finals
