The upside of Citizens United

I agree with the recent Daily Herald editorial comment expressing dismay over the intrusion of Super PAC money into the 8th District congressional race. In my opinion, the Citizens United decision by the Supreme Court will do great harm to our electoral process. It has set the stage for the average citizen to be bowled over by corporate and wealthy interests. Nonetheless, I couldn’t help but smile at the sweet irony of how this decision by a conservative court is coming home to roost against Joe Walsh, one of the Tea Party darlings. Perhaps there is a silver lining to even this cloud.
