Toews skates with Blackhawks

Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews skated for the first time Thursday since he was injured nearly three weeks ago.

Toews was on the ice before the Blackhawks had a morning practice at their facility near the United Center. He has not played since Feb 19 because of an upper body injury that has been widely reported as a concussion. He will miss his ninth straight game Friday when Chicago hosts the New York Rangers.

He has 57 points in 59 games this season. The Blackhawks are currently sixth in the Western Conference standings.
