Classic Hollywood Films at Cutting Hall March 28 & April 18

Palatine's very own Blue Whiskey Independent Film Festival is proud to present two Hollywood classic films this Spring as part of their monthly cinema series. On March 28th, the festival will screen the 1963 Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn suspenseful romantic comedy, "Charade", followed by the John Wayne comedic western, "McLintock!" on April 18th. Tickets for each film will be $5.00 and both begin at 7:30 p.m.

In "Charade", Regina Lampert (Audrey Hepburn) is about to divorce her husband when she finds that he has been murdered after converting every penny they owned to cash, which is also missing. She meets Peter Joshua, et. al. (Cary Grant) who is interested in her husband's money, which seems to have come from a WWII payroll he stole. His partners in crime are also very interested in where the money is, as he stole it from them as well, and everyone assumes Regina must know where the money is. The situation becomes more tense when the searchers begin turning up dead. Co-stars include Walter Mathau, James Coburn, and George Kennedy. You can expect the unexpected when they play Charade.

It's a guessing game of mirth and mystery! John Wayne as George Washington McLintock, "GW" to friends and foes alike, is a cattle baron and the richest man in the territory. He anxiously awaits the return of his daughter Becky who has been away at school for the last two years. He's also surprised to see that his wife Katherine has also returned. She had left him some years before without really explaining what he done but she does make the point of saying that she's returned to take their daughter back to the State Capitol with her. Between his wife, his headstrong daughter, the crooked land agent and the thieving government Indian agent, GW tries to keep the peace and do what is best for everyone. Co-stars include Maureen O'Hara, Jerry Van Dyke, and Stephanie Powers.

The Blue Whiskey Cinema series screens a film each month of the year, between August and June. The series is presented by CNGM Pictures, an award-winning film company based in Palatine and Chicago. The prolific film-making company also presents the annual week-long Blue Whiskey Independent Film Festival in July featuring exciting independent character driven films from around the world.
