Multiple Mt. Prospect homes burglarized

Mount Prospect police are investigating a string of residential burglaries that occurred between March 1 and March 4.

Police said the homes were broken into between 4 p.m. and 11 p.m. when residents were away.

The neighborhoods where the burglaries occurred are bordered by Seminole Lane on the north, Kensington Road on the south, Burning Bush Lane on the east and Wolf Road on the West, according to police.

Burglaries occurred on the 1700 block of Aralia Drive, the 1700 block of Laurel Drive and the 900 and 1000 blocks of Moki Lane. according to police.

The offenders used force to pry open windows or doors on the rear of the homes in most cases, according to police.

Homeowners reported jewelry, cash and other easily transported valuables missing after the break-ins, police said.

Police have increased patrols in the area but are asking residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious persons, cars or acting. Anyone with information is asked to call police at (847) 870-5654 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at (847) 590-7867.
