Jacobs High School graduate wins Ted Spella Education Award
Submitted by Algonquin Lions
Jacobs High School graduate Kristin Wodka displays the Ted Spella Education Award she received from the Algonquin Lions Club.
As the 2012 Ted Spella Award winner, she also received a $2,000 check from the Algonquin Lions. In the fall, Kristin will attend Olivet Nazarene University where she will major in psychology.
The Algonquin Lions raised the funds for the education award by sponsoring the annual Algonquin Lions-Buffalo Wild Wings Charity Bean Bag Tournament.
The Algonquin Buffalo Wild Wings hosts and supports the annual tournament.
The Algonquin Lions also donated $2,000 to the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Interfaith Food Pantry from proceeds raised from the Bean Bag Tournament.
The Lions’ Ted Spella Education Award committee recommended Kristin for the award because of her outstanding academic achievements, her dedication to the Jacobs High School music program and her community service.
