Center of Concern funding is necessary
The recent action by the Park Ridge City Council in eliminating funding for The Center of Concern leaves me stunned.
How any responsible public official could reach this conclusion is beyond comprehension. The Center is the product of many years of voluntary efforts to make Park Ridge a better place to live. To cut its funding is a slap in the face of many caring people. In addition, it places The Center’s clients in harm’s way.
This action is dumb. The Council has replaced thinking with political slogans. The members who promoted this answer should immediately reverse it and renew funding. To do anything less is irresponsible and mean-spirited.
