English Gardens
Everyone is invited to hear Carolyn Ulrich, Editor of Chicagoland Gardening Magazine who will be the guest speaker at the Tri-Village Garden Club Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Sonya Crawshaw Branch Library at 4300 Audrey Lane and Schick Road, Hanover Park, at 7 pm.
Carolyn was the Garden columnist and feature writer for the Chicago Sun Times for seven years and has written freelance for Garden Design, Horticulture, House Beautiful and the Chicago Tribune. She received the Quill & Trowel award for magazine writing from the Garden Writers of America three times. She has her M.A.T. in English from Northwestern University; B.A. in English and French from the University of Kansas; B.A. in photography from Columbia College and a member of the Garden Writers of America. She was an English teacher for 20 years. Carolyn's presentation on March 21st will be "England's Greatest Hits." She will host a "tour" of the major "must-see" gardens in England, including Sissinghurst, Hidcote, Great Dixter, Barnsley House, Oxford's New College and a ruined castle or two. This will be similar to an English Gardens 101 class.
