Schaumburg seeks tax break to help land new business

Schaumburg trustees have recommended that the Cook County Board approve a Class 6B tax incentive that would help the company Con-Form Industries move into the vacant building at 561 Estes Ave. in the village.

The tax incentive lowers the level of tax assessment on a property for 12 years before returning it to normal. Only industrial properties that have been on the market or available for lease for at least two years are eligible for the Cook County incentive.

During the past decade, Cook County has approved more than 50 such incentives in Schaumburg alone.
