Santorum ignores the earth, our future

“The earth is not the objective,” Rick Santorum said on “Face the Nation” on CBS News. “Man is the objective, and I think that a lot of radical environmentalists have it upside down.”

Really? Here’s some facts Rick may not be aware of: 1) The food in his belly as he spoke, came from the earth. 2) The beverage he drank earlier that day was composed of liquids which came from water, which came from the oceans of the earth. 3) The clothes on his back as he spoke were (I assume) derived from plants grown in the earth. 4) The building in which he sat was constructed of materials (lumber, steel, glass) extracted from the earth.

If we are to ignore the earth, then we ignore our future. For without a healthy Earth (ecosystem), there will be no food in our bellies, no clothes on our backs and no roof over our heads. We need leaders who can see the big picture, not narrowly focused ignorant ones.
