Scariest time in history? C’mon, Newt

In the GOP debates, the candidates agreed that this is the scariest time in our history from a national security perspective. Really? Pearl Harbor, burning of the White House (War of 1812), the Great Flu epidemic, polio, etc.

Some things I can forgive for ignorance and blustering, but Newt Gingrich, who indirectly received some of my money as a Freddie Fannie “historian.” Really, Newt, really?
