Pramaggiore takes reins at ComEd

ComEd Monday said that Anne R. Pramaggiore, a Barrington resident, has become its president and chief executive officer, an appointment first announced on Sept. 9. The leadership transition follows the retirement of Frank M. Clark, chairman and CEO since 2005 and a 46-year veteran of the utility.

“The coming years will be a time of great opportunity for ComEd as we embark on the ambitious plan to modernize our system, increase our interaction with customers, deliver a new level of care and provide a new value proposition to our customers,” Pramaggiore said in a statement. “Backed by a strong and talented management team and skilled and dedicated employees, I am excited about the work ahead.”

Pramaggiore joined ComEd in 1998. Most recently, she held the position of president and COO, where she was responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company, which delivers electric service to 3.8 million customers throughout northern Illinois, employs a workforce of 5,600 and has revenues of about $6.1 billion.

Over the last year, she led ComEd’s efforts to enact the Energy Infrastructure Modernization Act, which authorizes the utility to embark on a $2.6 billion infrastructure program to strengthen the existing electric system and add digital technologies to improve overall system reliability, reduce outages and improve power restoration.
