Fox Valley choir looking for new members

Submitted by Misty River Music Makers

Have you always liked to sing? Have you been feeling nostalgic about those good old days when you were a member of a choir?

Let the Misty River Music Makers take you back to the joy and fun of group singing. They will host upcoming guest nights. Sing a little, laugh a little and have a simple, fun-filled night

A bit nervous that your vocal chords and stage nerves aren’t quite what they used to be? Many of the 22 members felt the same way before they joined Misty River. But now they are belting out the old standards and some bluesy new tunes. You don’t need to read music to fit right in.

Join one of the Monday night practices, which are open to all interested ladies. Drop in from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Mondays, March 5 or 12 at the new practice location, The Montessori Academy, 595 S. River St. in Batavia. They rehearse in the building at the far north end of the property.

The Misty River Music Makers is a women’s a cappella chorus which sings four-part barbershop style harmony. They have been singing in the Fox Valley for more than 27 years.

Membership includes women of all ages from all over the suburbs. Misty River recently won the “Highest Scoring Small Chorus” award at its regional contest and convention, and again at the Harmony Inc. annual international contest in Hershey, Pa. in November 2011.

And when they are not singing competitively, they are entertaining audiences all around the Fox Valley.
