Poll Vault: What would you do if you won the lottery?
This edition of Poll Vault was made possible by my not winning Powerball over the weekend.
The jackpot was over $336 million, so several of us at the Daily Herald combined our money for multiple tickets.
Of course, I realize the odds of winning are infinitesimally small, but joining the pool was really a defensive move. You don't want to be the only one left in the newsroom after an exodus of winners.
Besides, many of us rationalize, the few bucks we threw in can be considered an entertainment purchase. It's fun just to dream of what we'd do with all that loot. Whoever bought the winning ticket in Rhode Island can turn that dream into a reality.
What about you? What's the first thing you'd buy? Would you quit your job the next day?
